We run a Pay It Forward fund in person and online.
Anyone can contribute to our fund. When you come to pay your service, ask us to add any amount for the Pay It Forward fund. This can be as small as £1 and as large as you would like.
Who can use the Pay It Forward fund?
Our Pay It Forward fund is for:
1. Trans, Intersex, and Nonbinary People
2. Queer People of Colour
3. Women of Colour
4. Disabled People
We specifically want these demographics to feel able to cycle without the financial burden. While we will not means test you, we run this fund for those who could not otherwise afford to cycle or maintain their bike. If you have the above identities and are able to pay for our services, you are welcome to do so. Only you can know if the cost of servicing is a barrier to cycling for you, and if it is, this fund is here to help.
How Do I Use It?
Our fund can only be used for bike services in-person at our workshop. We have a limit of £30 per person which can cover parts and labour costs. When you come for your appointment, tell us that you’d like to use the Pay It Forward fund. We can tell you roughly how much your bike will cost to fix, and whether these is any excess to pay, so you know when you come back to collect your bike.
We hope that our fund will always be full enough to cover your costs, but please make sure you ask us early so we can be sure we have funds available.
We won’t ask you to prove how you fit the identity criteria or even ask you which ones you fit into. Many of these things are private and we respect your privacy. We will simply read you the list of who the Pay It Forward fund is for and have you confirm that you know this is only for those people. We trust your self-identification, and since this fund is community-funded, we trust that all our customers will be honest and respect the guidelines of the fund.
You can contribute to our Pay It Forward fund online from anywhere in the world using PayPal. Simply click the button below and choose how much you’d like to pay.
